Wireless Converters
Overview
The WI-FI converter WiComm v2.0 enables the connection of RS232 serial devices to WLAN. Two modes for wireless operation are selectable:
- the infrustructure mode that enables the connection of WiComm converters to an AP
- the ad-hoc mode so that two WiComm converters can directly communicate with each other or to a wireless PC
The WiComm converter is specially developed for industrial applications. It supports WEP, WPA, WPA2, PAP, MS-CHAPv2, 802.1x EAP with TTLS/LEAP/PEAP wireless security schemes, read and write configuration passwords, TCP/IP access control lists. The enclosure is made of rugged 18 gauge pre-plated galvanized steel with a degree of protection IP40. Side flanges allow installation on virtually any surface, or on a DIN rail with a mounting bracket. The WiComm converter requires an external 5 V power supply (power supply included). The WiComm can be supplied over 5.5 mm plug or over the RI Pin.
