Current supply situation for DDR, eMMC, and flash memory
The current market situation for DDR, eMMC, and flash memory is characterized by highly volatile prices, extended lead times, and, in many cases, limited availability. This situation already impacts planning reliability and our ability to supply.
To improve supply security and predictability, we recommend the following measures. We are available at any time to support you with coordination, technical verification, and implementation:
Evaluation of alternative memory densities or assembly variants to utilize more readily available components. In many cases, more memory is populated than actually required. The use of smaller, demand-oriented memory devices can improve availability while enabling significant cost savings.
Qualification of alternative or compatible memory devices, where technically feasible, in order to reduce dependencies on individual manufacturers or components.
Use of customer-supplied memory components (consignment) to ensure availability. The respective terms and conditions will be defined individually.
Establishment of safety stock may be discussed on an individual basis. This requires long-term demand planning and may involve additional costs. Appropriate framework agreements are required.
Procurement and demand fulfillment are carried out exclusively on the basis of confirmed purchase orders. In the current market environment, reservation or stockpiling without a corresponding purchase order is only possible to a limited extent.
Prices for existing stock remain unchanged. This provides the opportunity to proactively secure available components at currently attractive conditions.
The earlier demand is aligned and suitable measured are defined, the better lead times can be stabilized and risks minimized.
We are pleased to support you in evaluating and implementing appropriate measures to ensure a stable and predictable supply situation.
