Monitoring System

This project was about the development of a monitoring system for monitoring equipment in power plants.

Up to 9 inductive sensors, which provide speed-synchronous repetitive analog signals, are connected to the FPGA via preamplifiers controlled by the FPGA via fast 62 MSPS ADC. The digitized signals are converted to timestamps for each sensor using individually adjustable triggers and evaluation windows. These time stamps are transferred to a higher-level evaluation unit via Gigabit Ethernet. Raw data and timestamps can be stored on an M.2 SSD connected to the Zynq™.

The task of Trenz Electronic was to participate in the concept creation, development of the circuit, creation of the layout, development of the embedded software, concept and creation of the FPGA design, as well as the PC user interface. Package design, integration and conformance tests were also handled.
